In version 8/9 you could remove and re-add the columns to a query without removing the sorting options as these were on a different tabs. Now in V10 they are part of the column selection and they are not easy to see all the sorting columns and their sort directions before dropping the columns and require reseting up the sorting settings if the column list has to be reset.

The columns on our queries have to be dropped and re-added when we change an underling view.
